The Credit Signal: Live JOJO.Index Tracker

Live tracker for the JOJO.Index credit signal: current regime (credit-off), spreads, and every stress episode since 2007.

Current signal: CREDIT-OFF (long Treasuries)
Last regime change: week ending 2026-10-23. Data through 2026-10-28. Updated every trading day.

The JOJO.Index (ATAC Credit-On/Credit-Off Index) asks one question every week: are utilities leading the S&P 500? When they are, it rotates out of high yield and into long Treasuries. When they are not, it holds high yield. This page tracks that signal, the credit market it is reacting to, and how the index has behaved in every major stress episode since 2007.

The signal right now

Utilities vs. the S&P 500 over the past 4 weeks: +6.38%. The index has changed regime 81 times since its June 2021 launch and has been credit-off in 47.0% of weeks.

The long view

Since 2007, backtested history plus the live record: 9.63% a year, against 4.74% for high yield and 2.86% for long Treasuries. The live years since 2021 have been harder than the backtest, mainly because 2022 hit long Treasuries harder than high yield.
